Following Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest, Zac Taylor’s intervention appears to have been a major factor in the NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals being postponed on Monday.
Safety Hamlin of the Bills was still listed as critical as of Tuesday morning at Paycor Stadium following his collapse during the first quarter of the NFL game. Many of the players were clearly upset by what had happened in Cincinnati, and after the incident, they were seen crying and praying for Hamlin’s recovery.
Despite the unfortunate turn of events, NFL officials initially were poised to continue the important AFC fixture; however, it appears Taylor was a major factor in making sure that didn’t happen. That came after a meeting with his team, when Cincinnati’s head coach intervened to seize control of the situation.

The event brought back memories of Christian Eriksen, the Danish player who suffered a heart arrest in June 2021 during their Euro 2020 opener against Finland. In that instance, the decision to continue the match later that same day caused debate within the football world.
Eriksen was shortly found to be in a stable state and had received an implanted cardiac device (IDC). Eight months later, the Dane was back playing in the top division and has since signed with Manchester United of the Premier League.
