BREAKING NEWS: Dolphins Officially Seal Marcus Maye Deal.

Jevon Holland and Jordan Poyer were considered the Miami Dolphins’ starting safety tandem. There was a lot of raw potential and little depth behind those two, though.

However, the Dolphins signed Marcus Maye, which made a difference. He can switch between strong and free safety with ease and offers a wealth of expertise from his time as a veteran to the safety room. Although Poyer was expected to be the other starter, Maye’s arrival will set up a starting position battle between the two seasoned players during Dolphins training camp and the preseason.

After agreeing to a free agent contract on Monday night, Jordan Poyer and Marcus Maye, two veteran safety projected to play major roles, joined the Miami Dolphins.

Out of the seven players in the draft class, the Miami Dolphins now have just one player to sign.

The Miami Dolphins moved one step closer to signing every player in the 2024 draft class.

On Tuesday, the team declared that they had signed Patrick Paul, a second-round pick, to a rookie contract. Paul’s four-year contract is expected to have a cap number of roughly $1.3 million for 2024 based on the rookie pool.

In the 2024 draft, Paul was selected with the 55th overall pick. He was a five-year letterman at Houston (2019–23), starting 44 games in his career, all at left tackle. In addition to being named to the first team of the Big 12 in 2023 and the first team of the AAC in 2021 and 2022, he was selected to the first team of the league three times.

Paul was selected in the first round to eventually replace Terron Armstead at left tackle. He will spend the majority of his rookie campaign studying from Armstead and veteran Jordan Poyer

Following a recent minicamp workout, Paul expressed his desire to take up knowledge from Armstead, while the veteran expressed his admiration for Paul, stating the rookie selected in the second round has all the makings of an NFL offensive tackle.
