Rangers reportedly want to accept a £5 million bid before cutting ties with a player who earns £22,000 a week.

Rangers, captained by Philippe Clement, lost to Celtic in the Scottish Premier League final of 2023–2024. Rangers are undoubtedly eager to capture their first league championship since the 2020–21 season, even though the Gers did win the Scottish League Cup.

However, Rangers will probably need to make roster changes this summer if they hope to defeat Celtic. Oscar Cortes, who returned to the Scottish powerhouse on loan from Lens, and Jefte have already joined the team; on July 1st, Clinton Nsiala will formally join the team, completing his permanent transfer from AC Milan.

Regarding further arrivals at Ibrox this summer, Rangers are rumored to be interested in  Nathaniel Adjei, a young player from Hammarby, who may potentially come to Glasgow for £5 million. In other news, the Gers seem to be in the lead in the race to recruit Bayern Munich forward Yusuf Kabadayi, who is 20 years old, for a possible £1–1.5 million move. Rangers are prepared to increase their interest in Connor Barron, whose Aberdeen contract expires this summer, according to a story that surfaced earlier this week.

This summer, Rangers will likely prioritize signing new players, but there may also be a significant departure at Ibrox. Tom Lawrence, who joined the team on a free transfer from Derby County in 2022 and is currently making £22,000 a week on a deal that runs through 2025, is the player who may be leaving.

When Lawrence first joined the Gers, former Rangers great David Templeton praised him and said he would be a key member of the team.

“[Lawrence] is an extremely skilled player,” Templeton remarked. When he signed, that’s what I assumed. I watched a couple of their games while I was down in Derby, where I used to live. He always made an impression on me. exceptionally skilled with the ball, able to make plays and score goals.

“I felt he was a great addition to the Rangers and had a strong debut. Just sad that he sustained that injury. He will be crucial to the comeback. He was doing great prior to the injury.

The adaptable midfield player has since made 41 appearances for the Scottish team in all competitions, tallying six goals and providing five assists. Nevertheless, Lawrence’s playing time has been slightly reduced since Clement joined the team last season; in the SPL, the 30-year-old played for 90 minutes just three times.

According to Football Insider, Clement wants to put any proceeds from Lawrence’s sale back into the first team, thus the Rangers are willing to trade him this summer. Rangers is willing to let go of the player for £5 million in transfer fees, which is obviously a significant return on the free transfer they were able to obtain back in 2022.
