Carruth comes to Tuscaloosa as a legacy, his uncle Paul Carruth played running back for the Crimson Tide from 1981-84 under head coach Paul W. Bear Bryant.
Carruth led the Huskies to the second round of the Ahead playoffs where they were defeated by the Hoover Buccaneers 24-23.
He is 6-foot-1, 195 pounds and passed for 1,891 yards and 16 touchdowns with three interceptions in his senior season with the Huskies.
He also rushed for 103 yards and five touchdowns.

The quarterback room now features Bryce Young, Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson, Blake Jarrett and now Carruth.
