FEB. 8 BELICHICK GETS SUPPORT FROM UNLIKELY HALL OF FAMER – In lambasting his former Dallas Cowboys, Hall-of-Fame receiver Terrell Owens wound up lauding Patriots’ legend Belichick. In an interview on the Up & Adams show, T.O. criticized the ownership style of Jerry Jones.
“He’s selling the fanbase Fool’s Gold every year,” Owens said. “He’s not losing. He may not win in the playoffs, but with those fans buying his product and going to that billion-dollar stadium … he’s winning.”
T.O. said Jones could have made a franchise-changing hire this offseason.
“If they would’ve got Bill Belichick,” he said, “then they got something. But when you’re a billionaire you do what you want to do with your money. He ain’t listening to us.”
