While the Bucs only went 9-8 in 2023, but they won their first Wild Card playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles and went toe-to-toe with the Detroit Lions in the Divisional Round. The Bucs could certainly use some help on the interior offensive line and on the edge on defense, and this will be a great opportunity to plug holes like that going into 2025.
As it stands, the Bucs are projected to have seven picks in the 2024 NFL draft. See where most of them land, and where the team could get a compensatory pick for one of their 2023 free agents:
Round 1

Round 1, pick 26
The Bucs are picking No. 26 in the first round due to their impressive end to the season. beating the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round and hanging toe-to-toe with the Detroit Lions. The Bucs used their first-round pick last year on pass-rushing defensive tackle Calijah Kancey out of Pittsburgh.

Round 2, pick 57
Last year, the Bucs used this pick on North Dakota State tackle Cody Mauch, whom the team then kicked inside to guard for the 2023 season. The Bucs still need interior offensive linemen and will likely draft another in 2024.

Round 3, pick 89
The Bucs used their third-round pick on edge rusher Yaya Diaby, who had a breakout year with 7.5 sacks. Diaby was a pleasant surprise, but the Bucs need another edge rusher to pair alongside him for the 2024 season and could find it here.

Round 4, pick 126
The Bucs didn’t have a fourth-round pick last year, instead picking twice in the sixth round. They do this year, though, so Jason Licht can either use this pick or flip it like he has in the past.
Round 5

Speaking of which, Jason Licht gave this Round 5 pick to the Philadelphia Eagles to trade down and draft Trey Palmer in Round 6. As a result, the Bucs don’t have a pick here for 2024 — for now, at least.
Round 6

The Bucs picked three times in the sixth round in 2023 to pick Trey Palmer, Josh Hayes and Jose Ramirez, but they only get one shot at it now. Palmer ended up looking solid in 2023, while Hayes made an impact on special teams and Ramirez didn’t make the active roster but was signed to the practice squad.

We know for sure that the Bucs have a pick in Round 7, a round they didn’t pick in last year. What we don’t know is what compensatory pick the Bucs will get for the departure of Mike Edwards in free agency (who will be a free agent again in 2024), though Tankathon projects that pick as a seventh-rounder. Should that be the case, Tampa Bay could pick twice here.
