Report: Browns reportedly in connection to sign a Five-star QB.

Former Texas A&M Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel was never going to be drafted in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys, a rumor we have debunked thoroughly and often.Johnny Manziel - Wikipedia

But if “Johnny Football” wants to, he could be making a return to the sport at the still viable age of 31.

The Arena Football League has expressed an interest in signing the failed NFL quarterback.

“I reached out to Johnny Manziel,” commissioner Lee Hutton told TMZ. “So, Johnny, I’m a Texas guy. So, if you’re ready to come back and indoors — because you did very well — we will take you. We will find a spot for you.”Johnny Manziel

The Arena League would be doing this for attention and for ticket sales, of course. Nothing wrong with that. Why would Johnny do it? He has been very open about his alcohol abuse and the other behavioral issues that made him a flop when he was picked in Round 1 by the Cleveland Browns. Would he like to prove that his demons are controlled … and that he’s still got game?

This was never going to be a Cowboys story (no matter how much team owner pretends otherwise). But it is a heckuva a Texas story. This was never going to be an “America’s Team” tale. But an American tale of redemption? That, we would root for.
