Another shocking news hit the Ajax: Ajax irreplaceable star player has been sacked first thing this morning.
Another startling development for the Ajax: the team’s indispensable top player was let go first thing this morning.
The most recent gifted youth player to come off the Ajax conveyer belt is Kenneth Taylor.
This season, he has cemented himself in the team’s midfield, drawing admiring looks from some of Europe’s largest teams.
At twenty, he has already earned three caps for his nation, including a taste of World Cup play against Qatar, the host nation.
We highlight Taylor before Ajax plays Union Berlin in the Europa League tonight.
Just eighteen years old, Taylor made his Ajax debut in December 2020, coming on as a substitute in a 4-0 victory over PEC Zwolle.
In 2020–2021, he would play two more games before becoming more involved in Erik ten Hag’s last season as head coach of the Dutch giants.
Taylor started every one of Ajax’s last five league games in 2021–22 after regularly coming off the bench, which helped the team win another Eredivisie title.
When asked about his goals and what it would take to get them, the teenager was honest last summer.
Taylor stated: “I hope that will happen since it’s my desire to play in the starting 11. Obviously, I want to represent my country. I hope it is feasible. That is a massive dream as well.
“I won’t be very pleased with myself if I don’t get it. I like to follow my dreams, and this is mine.
Regular Debutante
Regular in both the Eredivisie and Champions League, he was selected for Louis van Gaal’s World Cup team after earning his first cap for the Netherlands in September of last year.
During the short period Taylor has been a member of the first team, he has had three managers since Schreuder was fired in January and John Heitinga took his place.
All appear to be in love with a player who can play box-to-box or sit as a defensive midfielder. Among his many skills that have won managers over is his eye for a goal.
Taylor has seven goals in thirty Ajax games this season. This number includes the second goal in the 4-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam last Sunday.
Move Mooted
Former Ajax manager Aad de Mos is a major fan of Taylor and has tipped him to reach to the absolute top of the game.
Speaking last September, De Mos said: “He is already one of the best players on the field at Ajax. He will stay for another year after this, and then it will be Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United.
“If there are two buses parked in front of him, he knows how to make the right choices towards the strikers or players in his area and he is two-footed.
“If the team is compact, you don’t have to be afraid. He has an iron determination to protect and a good head. A highly talented player.”
Ten Hag reunion.
Taylor might develop into the perfect modern midfielder. A player who can do everything needed in the centre of the field and is able to fill numerous roles.
There has already been some transfer talk, and naturally, a reunion with Ten Hag at Manchester United has been mentioned.
Taylor would be prudent to analyze the experiences of other hyped young players at Ajax who have made moves to major teams.
Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong have both had some rough seasons since departing the club in 2019. Ryan Gravenberch joined Bayern Munich last summer and has struggled to establish a starting berth.
Though Taylor has the talent to make it to the top, he should not necessarily be in a rush to get there. Ajax have continually demonstrated that they are a reasonably good place for a young footballer to learn their craft.
