A New York Giants star and powerful player who was declared not for sale has finally been sold for unresisting currency worth billions of…
A compensatory third-round pick and a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft were acquired by the New York Giants from the Kansas City Chiefs in return for their 2021 first-round selection.
Head coach Brain Daboll stated, “I felt it was best for the team.” “We hope Kadarius gets well.”
In April of last year, the Giants traded back with the Chicago Bears to select Toney with the 20th overall pick. Naturally, they selected quarterback Justin Fields, and general manager Dave Gettleman believed he had gotten a steal in selecting Toney.
However, Toney’s tenure with the Giants was not without its difficulties at the outset. During rookie minicamp, he grappled with cleat troubles, and things only got worse from there. His numerous injuries caused him to miss practice and games on a regular basis, and this continued into 2022.
Toney eventually retracted some of the remarks he had made after becoming increasingly irate and lashing out at both reporters and followers on social media. Over time, though, the maturity problems continued.
Toney was perpetually hindered by injuries and never appeared to fit in, even with the greatest of efforts from head coach Brian Daboll. This season, he missed more than six games due to three distinct hamstring ailments.
When asked why things didn’t work out, quarterback Daniel Jones responded, “I don’t know,” to Pat Leonard. “I believe he is a very gifted player, and there are many reasons why things don’t work out in any given circumstance. I do, however, wish him the best, enjoy our time together, and value him as a comrade.
Toney has only caught two passes for zero yards in two games this season, but he has carried the ball twice for 23 yards. He had 39 receptions for 420 yards and no touchdowns at the end of the previous season.
Toney was a powerful player on the field and while healthy, but he never appeared to fit in with the Giants and eventually became unnecessary.
