BREAKING NEWS: Golden State Warriors set to draft Kentucky’s leading scorer.

On June 26 and 27, the NBA Draft will take place, and one former Wildcat might or might not hear his name called. That would be Antonio Reeves, the Wildcats’ top scorer from the 2023–2024 campaign.

Reeves is a player that very well may not be selected in the 2024 NBA Draft, despite being among the best in the SEC this season. Reeves was a productive scorer in college and has the potential to be an NBA knockdown shooter off the bench, so it would be foolish for an NBA team to pass on him.

The Bay Area News Group’s Dieter Kurtenbach thinks the Golden State Warriors need to select Reeves with the 52nd overall pick in the draft. Kurtenbach raises a valid point when he claims that Reeves’ age (24), as well as the fact that he isn’t the best defender, are the reasons NBA teams aren’t interested in him. Since the Warriors will now have Reeves available to them with their second-round pick, he thinks this is fantastic news for them.

Reeves would gain a lot from being drafted and would have a far better chance of joining the club rather than ending up in the G-League.

Despite his advanced age, Reeves is a capable player who can currently assist an NBA team and may play a supporting role in the league for many years to come. He was an All-American this season.

Reeves would fit in well with the Warriors and have an opportunity to win a ring with Steph Curry in his first season.
