Three Liverpool players Nathan Ake mentions as having made things “difficult” for Manchester City
Defensor Nathan Ake of Manchester City has identified three Liverpool players who performed well for manager Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Mohamed Salah is one of the Liverpool players that Ake mentioned as bothering City.
Nathan Ake, a defender for City, identified Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Alexander-Arnold as the three Liverpool players who caused difficulties for Pep Guardiola’s team following the game.
“[For the first goal], we were expecting a counterattack, but instead we scored. The same thing happened in the second half: we had a chance with Erling, and they scored.
It’s challenging to counterattack constantly [against Liverpool]. We know Salah and Nunez are going to run at you, especially as defenders.
It’s always challenging because they have players like Trent who can place passes in the proper spots.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez, and Mohamed Salah are not performing at their peak for Liverpool.
The Liverpool threesome of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez, and Mohamed Salah did not, in my opinion, play at their peak against Manchester City.
Although Salah, Nunez, and Alexander-Arnold caused problems for City, the reigning Premier League winners were able to contain them for the most part.
Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah did not always appear to be in the game and did not provide the goal danger that Liverpool supporters had anticipated.
Even though Nunez had his moments, he still has to improve on his first touch and did not appear very confident in front of goal.
Despite his lackluster defensive play, Alexander-Arnold, an England international right-back, was a menace up top, scoring a goal for Liverpool, and had a solid game all around.
