Crystal Palace has been suggested as an alternative attack target to Angel Di Maria.
Just now: Crystal palace has been suggested as…
Crystal Palace need attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window, and have now been linked with a sensational winger.
Having lost Wilfried Zaha in the summer, a winger who can add goals to the side will be one of the priorities of the January window, but losing Cheick Doucoure to injury also means Crystal Palace may try to sign a central midfielder.
It has now emerged that Palace could be a destination for on-loan Juventus winger Matias Soule, who is currently thriving at Frosinone.
Crystal Palace linked with Matias Soule
Gazzetta Dello Sport, via Sport Witness, have now claimed that Crystal Palace could be a possible destination for Soule, as Juventus aim to raise cash by selling assets who are not currently at the club.
Soule has scored six times in 12 Serie A games this season, whilst operating as a right-winger, and with Palace needing extra goals from wide areas, the 20-year-old could be an option.
Juventus reportedly want around €20-25m (£17-21m) for Soule, but it is unclear what kind of finances will be available to Palace in January.
Soule has been compared to his compatriot Angel Di Maria in the past because of his outstanding technical ability and his ability with his left foot.
Should Crystal Palace target Matias Soule?
Whilst Roy Hodgson is in charge, signing promising young talent seems a futile move.
Matheus Franca arrived as an expensive teenage starlet in the summer, and has hardly featured as Hodgson put his faith in older and more proven players.
Should Soule arrive, he could be subjected to the same treatment.
Palace also need players ready to make an immediate impact, and whilst Soule has been in good form, his relative inexperience could mean he is not of the required calibre to slot in as a starter for Palace.
Given that Palace are also focusing on loan deals, it seems unlikely that they have the means to fund a move for Soule, and the fact he is most comfortable on the right wing also means he may not be an immediate target.
