Houston Texans Sign Former Green Bay Packers Star With 125 Career Starts.
NOW IN: Green Packers Former Super Star New Deal Signed…
The Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers have a lot to be optimistic about.
The Texans seem to have found their franchise quarterback in C.J. Stroud, and the Packers are starting to see the same in Jordan Love.
The two teams are both fighting for their playoff lives as the season enters the final stretch.
Today, the Texans brought in a former Packers safety with 125 career starts under his belt.
The Houston Texans Sign Former Green Bay Packers Safety Adrian Amos
The Houston Texans will face the New York Jets in MetLife Stadium on Sunday. They’ll get a leg up with Tuesday’s signing of safety Adrian Amos.
According to Jordan Schultz, Houston signed Amos ahead of their Week 14 game against the struggling Jets. Amos was recently cut by New York and thus did not appear in Week 13’s 13-8 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Amos had performed well, making his release a surprising one. He has 19 solo tackles on the year and an admirable 72.7 defense grade from Pro Football Focus
Expect Amos to provide the Texans with depth and safety and help them prepare for the Jets’ strong defense that ranks third in passing yards allowed per game (176.6).
Amos Gets A Fresh Start After His Stint With The Jets
In his time with the Packers and Bears, Amos was a reliable member of the secondary.
He certainly has something left in the tank after finishing the 2022 season with 102 tackles, a career high.
Amos started every regular season game for the Packers during his four years in Green Bay. That included all 16 in 2019 and 2020, and all 17 in 2021 and 2022.
He ended his tenure in Green Bay with seven interceptions, one fumble recovery, 362 total tackles, and 15 tackles for loss.
