INJURY NEWS: Dolphins linebacker After breaking his nose against the…

I realized earlier this year that I’m just not physically, emotionally, mentally, or anatomically built to withstand the demands of the NFL while covering Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Robert Spillane, who at the time was making headlines for not missing any time after breaking his hand during a game. To be honest, sometimes I question if some of the guys that play in the NFL are even members of the same species as me. Has Aaron Donald ever been spotted without a shirt on? He appears to have been carved out of granite. He gives Greek sculptures a self-awareness about their physical forms. I simply resemble a big mound of mashed potatoes that has had a haircut.

I’m actually just hanging on as I write this, nursing a sinus infection that began as strep throat. As I type this, I’m actually lying down on my couch. Despite this, there are players like Andrew Van Ginkel of the Miami Dolphins who are playing despite an injury that would have 90% of guys who watch football all day on Sundays down on the ground in a heap, crying, bleeding, and snotting all over themselves.

According to a tweet from ESPN’s NFL analyst Adam Schefter, “Dolphins’ LB Andrew Van Ginkel broke his nose during the first quarter of Sunday’s win vs. the Jets and played with it the rest of the game with it.” “Van Ginkel did not miss any time.”

Andrew Van Ginkel did not miss a second of action during the game, and he will not miss any time for Miami in the future. In the Dolphins’ 30-0 victory over the New York Jets, he played the fourth-most snaps out of every defense on the team. On the upcoming Hard Knocks episode, hopefully, we’ll get an intimate peek at what transpired and what happened in the aftermath of the injury.
