Based on average yearly salary, it’s thought that Jackson is now the highest paid player in NFL history thanks to the agreement.
NFL Network stated that the Ravens “offered [Jackson] a deal that trumped it,” referring to it as a mega-deal, following the Philadelphia Eagles’ April 17 record-setting five-year, $255 million extension of quarterback Jalen Hurts.
With this deal, a protracted drama that escalated this spring when the 2019 NFL MVP disclosed that he had asked to be traded on March 2 has come to a conclusion.
In the negotiations, Jackson, 26, represented himself. More than a year ago, general manager Eric DeCosta stated that talks aimed at a long-term deal began.
Jackson’s knee sprain kept him out of the last five games of the 2022 regular season and the team’s loss to Cincinnati in the wild card playoff game. There were rumors that he was prepared to move on in the summer when he did not travel with the Ravens for the game versus the Bengals.

Early in March, the Ravens applied the $32.41 million non-exclusive franchise tag to Jackson. Jackson was free to speak with other clubs under the provisions of the tag, and if the Ravens decided not to match the offer sheet, they would have to pay two first-round picks for Jackson.
Odell Beckham Jr., a wide receiver signed by Baltimore last month as a free agency, stated he hoped to catch passes from Jackson but had not received any guarantees that the quarterback would be his teammate.
Jackson completed 2,242 yards of passing with 17 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 12 games during the previous season. Along with his 764 yards and three touchdowns, he also led the Ravens in rushing.
