What channel is Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings today in Week 16? Time, TV schedule
Upcoming: Detroit Lions coach targeting for conveying six keys players 2024….
When the Detroit Lions play the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis on Christmas Eve in Week 16 of the NFL season, they will attempt to win their first division title crown since 1993.
The NFC North Division rivals will face twice in three weeks, starting with this one. The regular season will end in Detroit in Week 18.
The Vikings (7-7) would need to win out in order for the Lions (10-4) to miss out on the NFC North, as they can clinch the division with a win or a tie. In Week 17, the Vikings host Green Bay, while the Lions travel to Dallas.
As one of four Vikings quarterbacks to start a game this season, 28-year-old journeyman Nick Mullens will start for Minnesota, which has lost three of its last four games. Mullens completed 26 of 33 passes for 303 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions last week in Cincinnati, which was enough to win. However, the Vikings lost a heartbreaking 27-24 in overtime after blowing a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter. Mullens has made 19 starts in his NFL career over the course of six seasons.

The Lions come into the game fresh off a 42-17 victory over Denver at home, during which Jared Goff completed five touchdown passes. Five touchdowns were scored by rookies Sam LaPorta (three touchdowns) and Jahmyr Gibbs (two touchdowns).
One crucial plot point to follow is Goff’s prior struggles against Brian Flores, the first-year defensive coordinator of the Vikings.
In the event that the Lions win the division in the remaining two weeks, a Vikings victory would retain them at No. 3 in the NFC and move them back up to the No. 6 seed. This may result in a first-round playoff showdown at Ford Field.
