Truely insane! Rangers Penalty Stats Are Revealed, And Celtics Fans React.
Social media users have recently been sharing the European teams’ penalty statistics from the previous few seasons, and they truly must be seen to be believed.
Fans of Scottish football are aware, of course, that the Ibrox team consistently receives a disproportionate number of penalties and that few are ever awarded against them on the home field.
They haven’t given up a penalty in the league in nearly four years.
And the Ibrox team has now gone a record 67 league games without giving up a penalty after their match against Livingston yesterday.
And as the table below shows at the bottom of this article, you will see just how our rivals compare to not only ourselves in recent years in terms of penalty statistics, but with other clubs around Europe.
Since August 2020 up to the 5th November of this year, the 2nd highest ranked team, with 32 penalties given for them and 12 against, meaning they go an average of 10.42 games before conceding a penalty in a league match, is PSG.
Quite astonishing figures, yet this pales in comparison with the team in No.1 position, you guessed it – Rangers.
In the same time period, the Ibrox club have received 30 penalties (32 after Livi game) and amazingly, have only had three penalties given against them in the league since August 2020.
That means that it will take them an amazing average of 41.67 games to give up a penalty.
Remind everyone that PSG has the second-highest penalty-for-game ratio on the list, giving up a penalty every 10.42 games.
It’s truly incredible, and after the Livi game over the weekend, it’s even more so.
Naturally, social media devotees of Celtics are extremely alarmed by these numbers.
